The new SLS Slide and Lock System large is the latest generation of weight system from Mares. The system uses a mechanical interference system that, during insertion, pushes the retaining teeth into position and prevents them from retracting. During release, however, it not only eliminates the interference but actually pulls the teeth inward via a system of sliding surfaces, thus ensuring the extraction of the male buckle from the female.

Ease of use is ensured by a large handle and a tunnel on the jacket that guides the insertion of the weight pocket so that the male buckle is aligned with the female. With a finger, the slider is then pushed in, which is followed by a decisive “click” sound but also the appearance in a dedicated window of a green closed padlock that replaces a red open padlock.
The small pocket has a capacity of 4kg while the large can accommodate up to 6kg; both are equipped with a heavy duty zipper.
